New Executive Director at IPF

Thierry Touchais has joined the International Polar Foundation in the newly created role of Executive Director. He is a graduate engineer from the Ecole Centrale de Lyon and the University of Berkeley and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.

The Belgian economical newspaper l'Echo offered the International Polar Foundation to participate to its new weekly section dedicated to "entreprises and sustainable development" called "Entreprendre - demain".

Johan Berte visits the Institut Paul Emile Victor (IPEV)

While the base's conceptual design moves on IPF proceeds with visiting a number of Polar institutes. IPEV, the French institute, was intersting to visit because it has a long history of construction and logistics in the Antarctic.

BE-POLES at the annual assembly of scientific teachers

IPF and the Renard Centre of Marine Geology of Ghent University presented the two BE-POLES contests for secondary school teachers at the "Congrés des sciences". On their stand nice posters explained the aims of the contests Pole-Position and Class@poles.

Following the Belgian Economic Mission to Japan, the International Polar Foundation was asked by the Belgium-Japan Association and Chamber of Commerce to write a short article about Belgo-Japanese collaboration in Antarctica.
