Isabelle Du Four, one of the educational officers at the International Polar Foundation (IPF), will be joining the Students on Ice Arctic Expedition, travelling through the Arctic region on a ship turned classroom and bringing to life issues facing the Arctic today. As an education team member she will give workshops related to polar fundamentals and environmental issues.

The Students on Ice program provides youth from around the world with ship-based educational expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctica. Their mandate is to educate and inspire the next generation of polar scientists and environmental leaders – and in doing so, help to provide them with a greater understanding and respect for the planet. Since 2000, over 1,600 high school and university students from forty countries have visited the Polar Regions with the Students on Ice program.

The Arctic journey will explore Iceland, southern Greenland, the north shore of Labrador and the northern reaches of Nunavik and will play host to 70 international students, aged 14-18. The students will travel on this transformative adventure together with a team of 54 scientists, historians, artists, explorers, educators, leaders, innovators and polar experts. Students on this summer's expedition will develop the knowledge, skills, perspectives and practices that will help them to be Arctic ambassadors and environmentally responsible citizens when they return to their own countries.
