From the 14th until the 18th of September, the International Polar Foundation is in Hong Kong participating in Sibos, SWIFT's annual conference which brings together representatives of the financial community from around the world to communicate and collaborate on global issues.

SWIFT invited the IPF to give a talk about its Princess Elisabeth Station, an excellent example of sustainability. Together with SWIFT, the IPF hopes to show that is it possible to organize large-scale events such as Sibos in a sustainable manner.

During the conference, IPF Executive Director Thierry Touchais will lead two sessions on making Sibos more eco-friendly:

  • Greening Sibos session on Tuesday September 15th from 17:00 to 18:30
  • International Polar Foundation Open Theatre session on Thursday September 17th from 12:15 to 12:45

The first time in 18 years the conference is being held in Hong Kong, Sibos is already a huge success, with more than 5,300 people attending.
