A Polar Tram for Brussels

The International Polar Foundation and the Belgian public transport company S.T.I.B./ M.I.V.B. have decided to join their efforts in raising public awareness on climate change and polar research.

During a press conference held in Brussels on August 29th, the IPF discovered the new "polar tram". Within the framework of the International Polar Year and as of September 2007, a new tramway will travel the city wearing polar gear.

The interior of the "polar tram" was designed to represent a giant iceberg and will carry various messages regarding the Polar Regions. The inside information will change each month, in collaboration with the International Polar Foundation.

The polar tram will be in circulation for one year. So, watch out for that tram and get a feeling on polar temperatures!
