Belgium’s Antarctic Station presented to NASA

Johan Berte was invited to meet informally with NASA representatives and external advisors over two days to exchange ideas and lessons learned which emerged from the Princess Elisabeth station's design process and to explore fields of common ground between the Belgian station and NASA projects for Moon and Mars stations.

There was a remarkable number of parallels between the projects, for example: in the design approach, number of people and activities (programme), energy issues, and payload limitations. Both parties will look at how to continue these contacts which might even result in formal cooperation at some stage.
