New Executive Director at IPF

Thierry Touchais has joined the International Polar Foundation in the newly created role of Executive Director. He is a graduate engineer from the Ecole Centrale de Lyon and the University of Berkeley and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Thierry has a broad international culture, and brings to the foundation a strong professional experience in technology, sales and marketing, fund raising and general management from his years in international corporations and technology start-up.

"I initially met Alain Hubert as he was my guide to climb atop the Mont-Blanc in 1999. When I learned he was seeking a person to manage the Foundation, to organize and secure its growth, I investigated in detail the purpose and mission. Alain's vision and the team of people I met, the great subject of climate change with its strong societal implications, and the Polar science with its touch of adventure were the three key parameters which got my motivation".

Alain Hubert, founder of the IPF, said:

"We are happy to welcome Thierry within the IPF. As a highly dedicated and energetic professional of international culture, we expect his contribution will quickly strengthen and speed up the pace of our roadmap to success".
