Princess Elisabeth Station Becomes a Reality

The IPF project team and Prefalux deal with the building modules neeeded to assemble the Princess Elisabeth Antarctic Station. Production has been picking up pace in the last weeks and almost all modules are now ready. Various stages of production are detailed in the picture gallery accompanying this news.

First transports to Brussels will start during the first half of July. The station will be assembled in Tour & Taxis and will be accessible to the public from the 6th to the 9th of September. During this event, an exhibition pertaining to the making of the Station will be organised on site and all partners will present their participation to this technological challenge.

The station will then be disassembled and shipped to Antarctica, where it where it will be re-assembled from November 2007 to February 2008.
