Save It! Energy Efficiency Days

From September 22nd until September 25th 2009, the International Polar Foundation is taking part in EESC's Save it! Energy Efficiency Days. The four-day event will end on Global Overshoot Day, the day on which humanity starts consuming more natural resources than the Earth can provide for the year.

As one of the partners of the event, the International Polar Foundation will be there for the entire event. Alain Hubert, polar explorer and IPF president, gave a speech on the opening day. The IPF educational team will be present during the entire event to give participants more information on the poles and climate change through the puzzles of the Polar Regions.

The aim is to raise awareness about the need to cut our global energy consumption and to take responsibility by:

  • Learning about what actions the EU is taking
  • Taking part in energy-efficiency experiments
  • Learning how to reduce their energy consumption
  • Learning about more efficient technologies
