Belgian Defense
The Defence Department is often considered to be a rather specific institution. And it is true. The diversity of its functions and missions is such that the Department combines practically all the specifics which it is possible to find in modern society. Over past years, the Defence Department has changed enormously. Its structure has been simplified to become unique, thus preventing repetition. It has equipped itself with a strategic plan, followed by a master plan, which provides it with a long term vision. Some major investments have been launched. All of this has been set up to create a tool which, it is true, is smaller, but which is more efficient. It is a Department which is also present in all fields. Our soldiers are currently deployed over four continents in operations devoted to the service of peace, each of which also has a humanitarian dimension designed for the benefit of the local population.
By contributing in real terms to the IPF project and the SPP federal science policy with the new Princess Elisabeth station, the Department also wants to associate itself with innovative projects which offer the promise of hope.

Château Maris
Château Maris is an organic and biodynamic winery located in the Languedoc region of Southern France. Despite boasting more than a millennium of wine grape growing experience, Languedoc historically has been one of the least understood regions of France. Today, Languedoc is quickly building a reputation as the French frontier of winemaking. Château Maris is at the forefront of this movement, producing wines that are being recognized globally by top wine critics for their depth, intensity, and character.
The Château Maris estate is located on 210 acres in the Minervois La Liviniere Appellation of Languedoc. La Liviniere is the first village in the Languedoc to be allowed to put its name after the appellation name, indicating that this specific area produces wines of distinct quality. Château Maris vines are certified as organic and biodynamic by Ecocert, the international certification body. Vineyard management practices on the estate focus on increasing soil fertility and health by introducing live matter via compost and companion planting. Two plough horses are kept on the property to avoid damage to vineyards caused by heavy tractors.
