The Dome Fuji project is a collaboration between the National Institute of Polar Research (NIPR) and the International Polar Foundation (IPF) to support the Japanese deep ice drilling programme at Dome Fuji, located approximately 880 kilometres from Princess Elisabeth Antarctica on the Antarctic Plateau.

The project involves overland traverses using tractors and sledges to transport fuel and equipment required for the deep ice drilling operations. These traverses provide the logistical support needed for scientific activities at Dome Fuji, one of Antarctica's inland research sites.

In addition to transporting supplies, the traverses also provide opportunities to carry out scientific measurements on the Antarctic Plateau. By supporting the logistics of the Dome Fuji programme, the project contributes to the continuation of long-term scientific research in the interior of Antarctica.
