The GLACIOCLIM project, led by the Glaciology Laboratory at the University of Grenoble Alpes in France, aims to improve the understanding of snow accumulation variations in East Antarctica through long-term field measurements.

During the expedition, IPF President and BELARE Team Leader Alain Hubert continued a decade-long collaboration with the laboratory by carrying out snow depth measurements along a transect between Crown Bay at the coast and Vesthaugen Nunatak. Glaciologist Jean Rasson from the Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium (RMI/KMI/IRM) accompanied the expedition during the 180 km trek.

These measurements contribute to long-term observations of snow accumulation and help improve the understanding of changes in the Antarctic surface mass balance.
