NIPR-Biology
The NIPR-Biology project, conducted by scientists from the National Institute of Polar Research (NIPR), focuses on understanding the distribution and evolution of biological ecosystems in Antarctica. The project prepares future field investigations comparing ecosystems from Enderby Land near the coast of Queen Maud Land and the Sør Rondane Mountains. Scientists aim to study current ecosystems and reconstruct recent ecosystem changes by collecting samples from ice-free areas in both regions. These investigations will help identify possible changes in ecosystem boundaries over time.
