PYRANO-UV
The PYRANO-UV project, led by the Royal Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy (BIRA-IASB), aims to collect long-term measurements of ultraviolet (UV) irradiance at Princess Elisabeth Antarctica. A set of three UV-VIS pyranometers measures global solar irradiance in the UVB and UVA broadband ranges. The collected data are used to study variations in Antarctic UV radiation and compare measurements from PEA with observations from other locations around the world. The project also contributes to the monitoring of changes related to the Antarctic ozone hole and polar atmospheric processes.
