With most of the scientists at the coast, things have been calm at the Princess Elisabeth Station. In Belgium, preparations are being made for the departure of the cargo ship bringing supplies and equipment to Antarctica.

Antarctica – The Next Generation: Conference Registration Now Open

On September 17, the "Antarctica – The Next Generation" conference will take place in Brussels, Belgium. It will present scientific research projects carried out at Princess Elisabeth Antarctica. The winner of the €150.000 InBev-Baillet Latour Antarctica Fellowship, awarded to young polar scientists, will also be announced.

Special Session on Belgian Research in Antarctica Organised by the “Collège Belgique”

From September 20th to October 18th, the Palais Provincial de Namur (Belgium) will be welcoming a special session on Belgian research in Antarctica in the framework of the "Collège Belgique", an initiative of the Royal Academy for Science and the Arts of Belgium to give citizens access to scientific knowledge. Over the course of the event, 12 researchers from various fields (glaciology, biology, climatology, oceanology, astrophysics and geology) will share their knowledge of Antarctica with the public.
