Alain Hubert to speak at Cryosphere Pavillion in Lead Up to UN Ocean Conference in Nice

Alain in front of PEA - teaser for Cryosphere Pavillion at UNOC3

On Thursday, June 5th, IPF Founder and President Alain Hubert will give a presentation at the Cryosphere Pavilion in the lead-up to the start of the UN Ocean Conference in Nice, France.

During his hour-long presentation, which starts at 2:15 pm in the Green Zone, Exhibition Center, 6 Avenue du Maréchal Lyautey, Nice, France, Alain will discuss mitigation and adaptation in the face of climate change. He will also highlight the crucial role that polar science plays in helping us to understand the changes happening on our planet.

Supported by the Albedo Cryosphere Foundation, the Cryosphere Pavilion “gives a voice to those who study and defend icy environments.” This description certainly fits Alain Hubert, who, during his long career as a polar explorer, has taken measurements for scientists while on his many polar expeditions, supported scientists through the activities of the International Polar Foundation, most through the construction of the Princess Elisabeth Antarctica (the world’s first and to date only zero emission polar research station) and providing essential logistical support to scientists who go there to do research.

The Albédo Foundation's mission is to financially support scientific programs of French and Francophone interest, both nationally and internationally. It focuses its efforts on research related to the cryosphere, particularly in the polar regions (North and South) and very high altitude areas.

Have a look at the Albédo Foundation's website to learn more about the event and how to attend the talk in-person!
